  • The Trumbull House was built in 1919 by Harry Trumbull, a master builder, as his personal residence. In 1985, the Fuller family purchased the house and three years later opened it as the first bed and breakfast in Hanover. The house was sold in 1991 to the present owners who reopened it as a B&B in 1995. Hilary, a Wharton MBA, gave up the corporate fast lane to create a career at home and raise her five kids, then ages 3, 7, 9, 11 and 13.
  • Still happily cooking those breakfasts, Hilary enjoys running the B&B and appreciates the freedom it provides her to spend time with her kids. Her oldest son, Hamilton, is enjoying working for Capital One in its Richmond, VA headquarters. Her oldest daughter and college basketball star, Meredith, graduated magna cum laude from St. Lawrence University and, after briefly dabbling with a career in modeling, got her USCG Captain's License. After a few years in the Caribbean, Meredith married her co-captain, Nils Erickson, and they currently charter Zenyatta, a 62 foot gunboat based out of St. John in the British Virgin Islands. Vicky graduated from Rice University in Houston and spent two years with the Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa, before returning home to help out at the B&B. She is currently managing the Wilder Center, a dynamic event facility in Wilder, VT. Jamison recently graduated from Suffolk University and now works for N Sphere, an Internet marketing Boston-based business. After graduating from Hanover High School, Margaret took an exciting gap year wandering Europe and West Africa and recently returned home to help Hilary with the B&B while deciding which college to attend.
  • During the summers, Hilary tries to take some time to head out to the east end of Long Island where she can enjoy her own mother and her cottage on the Great Peconic Bay. The B&B is well tended to by Lloyd Gabourel, our favorite innsitter, who graciously assists with all things Trumbull House whenever the family cannot be there to run the business!
